Louis & La'Toya Gatewood
Louis Gatewood, MS in Psychology, M.Ed. with an emphasis in Elementary Guidance Counseling, and Licensed Professional Counseling. I am trained in Motivational Interviewing Techniques, Solution-Focused Brief Counseling, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and de-escalation techniques. I have worked for over 20 years with children and adults, providing counseling services to help them overcome di cult emotions, improve coping skills, and increase healthy behaviors.
La’Toya Gatewood, M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, MS in Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis. I have over 16 years of experience advocating for the overall safety and well-being of children and families. I am dedicated to supporting families in achieving their identified goals.
La’Toya is the co-author and my wife of 18 years. We are the proud parents of three adult children and two grandchildren, Deaundre and Malakhai. We often plan fun weekend adventures that provide new opportunities to teach appropriate coping skills.
We hope our book is a resource for families, counseling professionals, and educators to teach children healthy strategies and problem-solving skills.
